Competitive adsorption of glyphosate and phosphate on goethite and gibbsite and on illite, montmorillonite and two kaolinites differing in surface area was evaluated. The results show that glyphosate and phosphate are competing for the adsorption sites, but the degree of competition depends on the adsorbent.
Abstract Competitive adsorption of glyphosate and phosphate on goethite and gibbsite and on illite, montmorillonite and two kaolinites differing in surface area was evaluated. The results show that glyphosate and phosphate are competing for the adsorption sites, but the degree of competition depends on the adsorbent. On goethite the competition is very much in favour of phosphate, on gibbsite ...
The values of water desorption were always below those of citrate, with 24.4, 9.2, 5.5, 2.6; 2.2; and 1.8 % of P applied in the same incubation periods. In RYL-sl, the percentage of P desorption was higher than in RYL-cl in all incubation periods considering desorption with citrate and water . The higher percentage of desorption of P applied to ...
Phosphate competition on arsenate sorption can increase the mobility of toxic arsenic in soils and aquifers, leading to possible contamination of groundwater. Rate-limited adsorption-desorption of arsenate As V and phosphate P as well as their complex interaction makes the prediction of the fate and transport of arsenic in soil and water environment rather complex.
Sorption fixed-bed column experiments were performed using a titanium phosphate ion-exchanger composed of −H2PO4 units TiO OH H2PO4 ·H2O . Model mine water containing five divalent metal ions Cu2 , Zn2 , Mn2 , Ni2 , and Co2 and a few closed-mine water samples were treated to evaluate the sorption preference of the material. For the first time, dynamic ion-exchange capacities estimated ...
Phosphate in solution increased As desorption, with each millimoles per kilogram of adsorbed P desorbing as much as 2.3 ± 1.1 mmol kg−1 of As. Studies concerning competitive sorption of anions on oxidic materials eligible to be used as soil amendments are crucial for a better understanding of the
