There are 72 economic deposits of copper/cobalt and four large mining centers. Taken together, the DRC and Zambian copper belts are the second largest global reserve of copper, about 1/3 the size of the Chilean reserve. The DRC copper belt includes some of the highest grade copper deposits in the world. In some reserves the grades are above 5%.

The Robinson Mine has a conventional process plant with ball mill grinding followed by floatation and a molybdenum recovery circuit. The mine produces between 121 to 126 million pounds of copper per year. Ruashi is a copper and cobalt mine in Katanga province, lo ed within the Democratic Republic of Congo. This mine is made up of three open pits, along with a modern solvent extraction electro-winning processing plant. Ruashi Mining started production way back in 1911.

The Kinsenda Project currently ranks as one of the world’s highest grade copper deposits with declared mineral resources of 20.7 million tonnes at a grade of 5.6% copper. Kinsenda is situated within the Democratic Republic of Congo, near the border town of Kasumbalesa. A Bankable Feasibility Study BFS on the project was completed in 2012.
